MQM self exiled leader Altaf Hussain has said “I call upon honest generals of army to take Marshal Law like steps to save this country”. This statement has resulted in anger,grief and agitation from all quarters of political spectrum.
So what are reasons behind this statement ,we all know MQM has stayed in power right from its inception ,in eighties ,in time of a military dictator who not only supported MQM but used it as a tool for his illegal rule on the country.
In fact,Military and MQM have stayed together in tough times . MQM supported both Zial ul Haq illegal rule and Musharraf rule as well and it got its strength in these two regimes more than others.
Now we have all come to know the power behind the all the loud speaking of Altaf Hussain who is enticing generals once more to seek power so that his party can get more power from military rule. PPP has kept MQM at a distance so far as it should be because PPP don’t need to support of MQM for Govt formation in Sindh Assembly.
Unlike Musharraf Rule when MQM controlled interior ministry in Sindh,PPP hasn’t done the same . Moreover ,to keep MQM quiet Zardari hasnt changed the Musharraf appointed Governor Sindh but how long Zardari can keep reconciliation policy with MQM is only matter of time now .
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has termed it “rebellion to the constitution of Pakistan and how can a party signatory of 18th Amendment could think of such act “. President Zardari has also rejected any chance of military takeover.
