PML-N-MQM join hands in opposition
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and MQM has united for the sake of common agenda of opposition in the assemblies that of national Assembly and Senate. This is clearly a sign of days and years to come when PML-N would be the dominant partner in government and MQM its ally just like some days earlier it was with Pakistan People’s Party government.
World has moved on and so does our politicians who are seeking newer ways to stay in power years before their time. Mqm can take the back seat outside the government for some months for the sake of next five years when it would be a coalition partner of PML-N both in centre and in Sindh government.
Like the PPP-PML-Q coalition in government this is another typical Pakistani politician’s fairy tale that can do anything for the sake of power. Once Qatil league is embraced by very same Zardari who had to hug his bitter enemies on name of reconciliation to show the people and following his personal grudge towards the Sharif’s of Raiwind who have vowed him to take him right to the bitter end.
Nawaz Sharif on the other hand accepted to cooperate with MQM in sole hope that in this way he would be able to reestablish his power in Karachi and Sindh as well that would never have been possible otherwise.
PML-N and MQM coalition is in fact an eye opener for PPP government that if matters proceeded as it is there would be little or no support for PPP in the next general elections and a third party like Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf might replace the PPP as a second or third option both in centre and in provinces.
