ransmission on August 14,2002 and it was one of the very few Private T.V channels at that time only succeeding ARY Digital and Indus t.v . Geo T.V Network is product of Jang group of Publications which is Pakistan’s most circulated Newspaper with its wide variety of publications including “Daily The News“, “Weekly Akhbar-e-Jehan” , and fashion magazine “MAG” in English.
Geo was only one channel at the time of launch both for entertainment and news tilll 2006 bu tin 2006 it launched a new channel “Geo News” only for news . Now Geo has four channels i,e “GEO TV” , “GEO NEWS“, “GEO SUPER” and “AAG“.
CEO of Geo T.V Network is Imran Aslam and Mir Shakeel-ur-rehman is the chairman of Geo T.V netwok who is son of Mir Khaleel-ur-rehman ,founder of Jang group of Publications.
Geo T.V Network has the honour of employing country’s best talent both in journalism and entertainment.
Geo T.V was banned along with some other news channels after imposition of emergency in Pakistan on November 3,2007 by its Military President Pervez Musharraf but it continued its transmission for satellite viewers from Dubai until November 17 when Geo T.V was forced to shut down on the extreme pressure of Pakistani authorities .
