These days several Pakistani TV channels are broadcasting an advertisement in which our president and prime minister are donating blood. This advertisement is being aired to spread a valuable message on the birth day of late Benazir Bhutto. It is meant to stimulate Pakistani public to donate as much blood as possible for their soldiers who are fighting for the solidarity of this country in war against terrorism.
After seeing such displays, every sensible mind raises few concerns that need to be settled.
* The first question that rises in one’s mind is that if this footage is based on truth or is it a mere photo session?
* Let’s assume for a moment that the footage was real and the aforementioned personalities were actually donating blood but then query is that why this act of kindness needed so much publicity.
* In this video one of the most important person in current situation is missing and that is our respectable army chief – Kayani. Now our public is facing confusion who else blood would be more precious than army chief’s for his men?
* Another important concern is that if our president and prime minister will depend on this kind of advertisement and will act for such publicity in future.
* In the end , when I think our present politicians, who did not even let go of our pilgrims (HAJIS) , I ask all of you this simple question that the person who will be given blood of these people, what he will do in future?
Considering this fact, I extend my humble request to our president and prime minister to take back every drop of their donated blood so that many much needed lives can be saved.
