Loan Behind Drone;Pakistan Opt For Dollars Instead Sovereginty

The god of peace is never glorified with human violence, said Thdrones1omas Merton.” This is what the people are being told since the end of WWI that certain rules and regulations are being formed or shaped to end the violence against human beings, in respect of humanity and to attain peace and stability among the states.

Organizations were established and rules were made to achieve this long-term goal of peace but when the creators will act beyond the rules then who will follow them?

United States, one of the strong proponent of United Nations, instead of committing to non-intervention into other’s affair’s, is endlessly involved into the foreign affairs more than the domestic ones.

Pakistan is one such country that is suffering from American extension beyond its limits.

Because it behooves American interests, Pakistan’s geographical benediction has turned out to be a perplexing one.

Each of us knows that 9/11 was an inside job but its ramifications grasped the rest of the world immediately.

And Pakistan, keeping all American deceptions at side, joined untargeted and unelaborated struggle against terrorism.

What else U.S. could have desired when Pakistan yielded its commitments, its citizens, its land and unfortunately but undoubtedly its sovereignty.

Now the mockery of sovereignty is on its way and American led drone attacks have so far killed more than those were killed in 9/11.

All this humiliation was accepted very soon because of the loan America made available to Pakistan whenever it required or forced to plead for.

Well aware of their currency supply and with their calculated strategies US policy makers are successfully acquiring political results of their economic policies by pressing Pakistani leaders down through the weightage of their dollars.

Now it can be perceived that US has almost purchased Pakistan’s sovereignty, its dignity, its presidency whoever is there, its will, its policies and now its land. Parliament and military is excluded from the list until any one of these institutions is alleviated to the upper level.

Leaders are not concerned about what there public want rather they are already prepare to say it bluntly that we cannot stand against US and this is, they say, all about us.

While responding to a question regarding the yielding of sovereignty in front of Americans, one of our leading politicians said that Pakistan have taken aid, not loan, of 18 billion dollars from United States from time to time to run the system which could not have been possible otherwise. He further taunted the host of that program, who was speaking against the drone attacks, that said the nation to return these 18 billion dollars and if they do I will stand with you to say that American policies are not in the interests of Pakistan.

Its hidden but true that it’s the main job of out politicians to prepare the answers of the questions which are raised by themselves in the previous government while sitting in the opposition.

Because of this our politicians take no time to answer the questions and this is what he did at that time. He did not just got escaped from the answer rather he justified the act of compromising sovereignty quite convincingly.

But that answer raised many questions on the minds of the viewers. Why it was necessary for all those, in power, to rely exclusively on US aid instead of increasing the opportunities of self-reliance? Who were the winners of these dollars? Whether this amount will be paid through compromising our sovereignty, our dignity and our lives?

The fact cannot be controverted and each of us knows, so we don’t need to tell here, that whose pockets were that much larger which did not permit such a massive amount of cash to arrive to the level where the people could have some evidence that US is helping Pakistan to get there people out of conditions that are horrific for the inhabitants.

Logic asks, here, than when someone is not in a position to acknowledge the proper distribution of resources and currency than how he can be held responsible to return that? The conditions of Pakistanis, in many areas, are not much better than those, were, at the time of independence.

Poverty is still strangulating the citizens more than it did in the past. Under such circumstances how our elected leaders say them to pay this amount while skipping from their responsibility to look at those who are selling their children just to have food once in a day?

If it is not the matter of money and just terrorism is the bone of contention than first ask Americans to define this term “terrorism.” And if they do accurately they must be pressurized or at least informed to feel guilty that what actually their drones are doing?

Is it not what threatens people? Are they just killing terrorist? Are they acting in a way to maintain international peace and security? But our politicians are helpless. Instead of trying to negotiate that what can appease Americans in such circumstances, our leaders are trying to be convinced that Pakistan is the apiary of terrorists.

Nelson Mendela said, “Vision with action can change the world.” American drones are killing the people from air like stray dogs do in the streets. We have a vision but we don’t have the courage to show our strength.

We are against terrorism and against terrorists but such bellicose tactics cannot be conducive to curtail terrorist’s ascendancy rather it will produce terrorists.

Although we hear our politicians while passing some animadversions, but we have lost beyond our imagination and We can see an aperture in Pakistan’s unity. But its not the end we can get it back but it needs a close look at our foreign as well as domestic policies.

Its not the time to pay for those sins which we didn’t commit rather it’s a time to say that we are the essence of Muslim world and to show that we know better how to gun down those who violate our dignity and sovereignty.
