Pakistan is coping with biggest natural calamity since its inception after 20 million people have been affected by massive floods in all five Privinces of the country, yet there are strong voices emerging for a political change in the country because according to some, political government has failed to deliver in two and half years of Power.
Opposition party in federal government of Pakistan is PML(N) lead by former two time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif which is also a ruling party in biggest province “Punjab” is calling for a change in Federal government but many people wander who is there to bring change .
President and Prime Minister of the Country are both from same party and military has kept itself away from politics after Musharraf . So,the situation is different from any before. In 90′s when three successive governments were dismissed by two Presidents and one by Army can’t be applied here.
So,what is the third option,those pushing for change believe Supreme Court has to play a key role here to end this government which is reluctant to implement the orders of Epic court and thus have no reason to stay in power.
But, Supreme Court can just pass judgments ,its the executive which implements the orders, ,if executive is not implementing ,then what action Supreme Court takes if any is yet to be seen. Whether it takes action against individuals or government as a whole.
For the time being government has gained time from Epic court till Oct 13. Important decisions are to come on Oct 13 and may be something substantial if not concluding.
