Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani called All Parties Conference is being held Thursday (Today) to discuss the ongoing tension between Pakistan and United States following inflammatory statement by U.S chairman Joint Chief of staff Mike Mullen in which he accused Pakistan Inter Services Intelligence of patronizing Huqqani network after the September 13 attack on US embassy in Kabul.

Huqqani Network, at one time was the favorite group of United States in resistance against Soviet Union. Then U.S President Ronald invited Huqqanis in White House. Ronald Reagan acknowledged the Huqqani’s sacrifices against the Soviet forces as giving them the status of “Moral equivalents to America’s founding fathers”.

People s Party ruling government though got the war on terror from incumbent Army general and President General Pervez Musharraf but this so called elected government hasn’t done anything to take the Pakistan out of US war but it has even gone one step ahead by not drawing a clear line between sovereignty and alliance even when Pakistanis are being killed every other day in US drone attacks in FATA.

Both Pakistani Prime Minister and President are not only badly unaware of Pakistani people emotions against themselves and against US but they also lack the will to act on the wishes of their country men who voted for them and sent them to cadres of power.

Pakistani Parliament joint in-camera session meeting was held in 2008 soon after the elections and both houses jointly called on Federal government to bring a gradual shift in its policy towards United States and treat it as an ally and not as a master but government took not a single step to act on this guideline by the Parliament.

Pakistani military as well as civilian leadership are not willing to take the country out of American vicious cycle even when thousand s are Pakistani people are being killed in fight against US war on terror in Pakistan. Above question has its answer in itself. Why the leadership act against the orders of US when they are the product of US.

Pakistanis know it was US who pushed Musharraf for National Reconciliation Order (NRO) to cleanse the dirty and corrupt PPP leaders and then push them into Government to act on their orders.

Pakistani people have made their mind to get rid of current political class which can’t move even a step forward without the support of United States against the wishes and demands of their own people.

In current scenario, PM called APC might be a good point scoring idea but no more than this. PPP government incompetency and lack of political will and greed for staying in power deny it from taking any significant step for change in foreign policy that according to a vast majority in Pakistan is already made by Pakistan Army.

Unless Pakistanis choose a competent people to govern the country and support them there is little chance of any betterment in the current predicament of country. Getting rid of America is no difficult task but this NRO produced government can’t do anything against the wishes of US even if US attacks Pakistan. This is writing on the wall.
