Pakistan Economy:Pakistan Economic crisis deepens
Ever since our new government has taken charge the condition of economy has been going down, and it has reached its worst level in
years .
It was never realized until Shoukat Tareen was called to office because Naveed Qamar was a dull guy and never realized that we are going on a slope quicker than before.
In order to save economy from default government has to stop all import of luxury goods including cars and other such items to save precious revenue for some progressive work.
This is high time that government take some big steps to show the investors that yes, it is possible still.
The statement of Shoukat tareen yesterday that Shoukat Aziz, Umar Ayub and Salman shah are responsible for current economic condition is very revealing and tells lot about the government stand.

Kurd wins SCBA election ;a landslide victory

Ali Ahmed Kurd has won a landslide in SCBA election yesterday. The Attorney General , supporter of M.Zafar should
immediately resign from his post.
This is a clear defeat of government and establishment forces who have chosen M. Zafar as their candidate. SCBA has to draw a new formula to make lawyers movement alive again for the independence of judiciary in this country.
It seems that government has decided to close the case of deposed judges and in order to re alive it requires a serious effort.
It was a great opportunity for the lawyers leadership to pressure government when long march protectors gathered at parade avenue marched but one wrong decision spoiled the show.
SCBA Election:Another Chapter in History
Supreme court bar association election is going to be held
today, oct 28,08. 1724 member lawyers of supreme court will cast their vote .
The contest is between Ali Ahmed Kurd , a man of great eloquence and nominated by pro -independent judiciary group of lawyers who were most active in lawyers movement and M. Zafar an oblivious man having support of Attorney General and government at his back.
This is going to be the Re-match of Feb,18 Election when pro-Musharraf forces failed miserably to anti-Musharraf forces. Similar is the case here , M. zafar is little known for his leadership and no one knows him. Whereas, Ali Ahmed Kurd is renowned all over the country for his fiery speeches against dictatorship an is a key member of lawyers movement.
This is going to be another chapter in our history because if Government backed M. Zafar succeeds then SCBA will also become a body docile to executive like Dogar Supreme court.
This is the time that lawyers vote according to their conscience and reject all kind of pressure imposed by government and executive and vote for the continuation of their outstanding lawyers movement.

Some days ago renowned columnist and anchor person of Express news TV
Javed Ch wrote a column in which he highlighted the character of Najam sethi, editor of ‘Daily Times’ and Governor Punjab Salman Taseer. This has evolved a controversy.
Javed Ch writes” In 1997 Najam sethi visited India and there ridicule the Pakistan ideology and the principles of Islam . Moreover , Najam sethi is running a NGO in Lahore which is sponsored by India and America because of its Anti Pakistan ideology. Najam sethi blatantly criticizes the fundamentals of Islam and is very fond of dogs”.
Javed Ch writes further” Musharraf has told me in his meeting that Najam sethi compelled me to carry out Lal masjid operation and after the operation these people ran away”.
Javed ch is cautious of the fact that new government is also acting in the hands of people like Najam sethi because these people are no good for any government nor for people of this country . Read more
Oil Prices and Its Affects On Public
October 26, 2008 by Bilal Ahmed

Black gold-the oil-runs like blood in the entire industrial body of a country. The growing needs and intellectual brains made it possible to trace out the hidden treasures of oil. Coal then, was replaced with oil and a revolution prevailed in the industrial sector.
Nourishment of an industry bases on the roots of oil, available at low cost.
Now, oil is available at roundabout 65$ per barrel in the International market. But prices in Pakistan are still unbearable for a common man. Former president Musharraf lost popularity, mainly due to three reasons, which are his support for U.S. led war on terrorism, the authoritarian steps he took to remain crowned and especially due to the soaring prices.
Recently in July 2008, oil went expensive, as 145$ per barrel in the international market.
According to New York Mercantile Exchange, the crude oil delivery for the November traded at about 73$ per barrel. If the people pay less for oil, the industry will grow fast particularly in developing countries, like Pakistan.
On the other hand, consumption of oil in the developing nations is growing, but at slower pace.
Expensive oil is a source of major concern, especially for the public of Pakistan. A few months ago when the oil prices went high in the international market, the Finance Minister, here, said that oil cost is rising at international level so the oil prices will be increased at national level too and the subsidy given on the oil will be withdrawn gradually by the government.
